Please read these terms carefully before using EcoSpark.
For Parents & Guardians
By allowing your child to use EcoSpark, you (as parent or legal guardian) agree to these Terms of Service on behalf of your child. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not allow your child to use the platform.
Welcome to EcoSpark! By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
- These terms apply to all users, including children, parents, guardians, and educators
- EcoSpark is intended for children aged 5-18 with parent/guardian consent and supervision
- Parents/guardians must create and manage accounts for children under 13
- Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any updated terms
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:
- Age Verification: You must verify that you are the parent or legal guardian and have authority to consent to your child's use of EcoSpark
- Supervision: You are responsible for supervising your child's activities on the platform
- Account Security: Keep login credentials secure and do not share them with others
- Accurate Information: Provide accurate age and contact information
- Monitor Content: Review content your child posts before they share it
Account Rules:
- One account per child
- Do not create accounts for children without parent/guardian permission
- Accounts are non-transferable
- We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms
✓ Encouraged Activities:
- Sharing creative recycling and eco-friendly projects
- Learning about environmental sustainability
- Participating in educational challenges
- Supporting and encouraging other young creators
- Asking questions and seeking help from the community
✗ Prohibited Activities:
- Inappropriate Content: Profanity, violence, sexual content, hate speech, or bullying
- Personal Information: Sharing full names, addresses, phone numbers, school names, or social media accounts
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or creating fake accounts
- Spam: Posting repetitive, irrelevant, or promotional content
- Copyright Infringement: Uploading content you don't have permission to use
- Hacking: Attempting to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization
- Dangerous Activities: Promoting harmful or unsafe behaviors
- Misinformation: Deliberately spreading false environmental or health information
Content Ownership:
You (and your child) retain ownership of original content created and shared on EcoSpark (photos, videos, stories, descriptions). However, by posting content, you grant us:
- A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the platform
- The right to moderate, edit, or remove content that violates our policies
- Permission to feature outstanding projects in promotional materials (with attribution)
Content Moderation:
All user-generated content undergoes AI-powered moderation and human review before publication:
- Content is screened for safety, appropriateness, and compliance with our policies
- We may reject or remove content that violates our guidelines
- Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination
- Appeals can be submitted to our moderation team for review
Copyright & Attribution:
- Only upload content you created or have permission to use
- Credit original sources when inspired by tutorials or others' work
- Respect intellectual property rights of others
- Report copyright infringement to: copyright@ecosparkkids.org
EcoSpark is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties or guarantees about:
- The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of educational content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform
- Results from following recycling tutorials or eco-activities
- Safety of craft projects (parent supervision required)
Safety Disclaimer: All recycling and craft activities should be done with adult supervision. EcoSpark is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from activities shown on the platform. Please review our Safety Guidelines before attempting any projects.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EcoSpark and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Personal injury or property damage from following tutorials
- Interactions between users (though we moderate content)
- Technical failures, data loss, or service interruptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.
Termination by You:
- Parents/guardians may delete their child's account at any time
- Contact privacy@ecosparkkids.org to request account deletion
- Personal data will be deleted within 90 days (see Privacy Policy)
- Published projects may remain visible unless removal is requested
Termination by Us:
We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violations of these Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- Repeated posting of inappropriate or unsafe content
- Harassment, bullying, or threats toward other users
- Fraudulent or deceptive behavior
- Legal or regulatory requirements
We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make significant changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date
- Parents/guardians will be notified via email
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms
- If you disagree with changes, you may delete your child's account
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution:
- We encourage resolving disputes informally by contacting support@ecosparkkids.org
- If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
- You have the right to opt out of arbitration within 30 days of account creation
Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow arbitration agreements for consumer contracts. This provision may not apply to you if prohibited by local law.
Teachers and educators using EcoSpark in classrooms:
- Parental Consent: Must obtain written consent from parents/guardians before allowing students to create accounts or post content
- Supervision: Must supervise student activity and review content before posting
- Student Privacy: Comply with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and local education privacy laws
- Classroom Accounts: Contact us for special classroom or school accounts with enhanced privacy controls
